SVP Showcase Event

Green Communities Foundation (GCF) recently participated in a Showcase event hosted by Social Venture Partners (SVP) Mumbai at the prestigious ITC International Hotel. This event marked the culmination of a successful three-year partnership between GCF and SVP.

The Showcase provided a platform for GCF and other SVP partner NGOs to present their impactful work to a diverse audience of potential collaborators, including corporate leaders, philanthropists, and other NGOs. The event proved to be highly beneficial, generating significant support and establishing valuable contacts for future project funding and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) collaborations.

Throughout the event, GCF received consistent praise and appreciation from SVP Partners for its dedicated work in urban and rural waste management across seven talukas and over 400 villages in Raigad district. The positive feedback significantly boosted the confidence of the GCF team, further motivating them to continue their impactful work.


Service fair at Oberoi International School

On October 24, 2024, Oberoi International School organised a Service fair, which was attended by students, parents. Various non-government organisations (NGOs) were involved in the event, where each NGO set up its own stall, and GCF also had a stall dedicated to waste management.

After the setup was complete, school coordinator Kumar Sharma introduced the students of class 9th and 10th to the NGO and engaged them as volunteers. The event was three hours long, during which students and parents visited the stalls.

Some of the projects GCF showcased were:

Project: Nirmalya (flower composting during Ganesh Visarjan)

Project: Niramay (Zero Waste Campus, Patkar college)

Raigad: Plastic free villages (dry waste management)

Mumbai: Sustainable green societies (total waste management)

Also kept a few samples of leaf composting and vermi-composting.


Hindu Spiritual and Service Foundation (HSSF) Fair - 2025

The Hindu Spiritual and Service Foundation (HSSF) Fair 2025 in Mumbai, India, took place on January 9th-12th at Laxmi Park, Goregaon (W). It outlines the fair's mission ("Value Building Is Nation Building") and vision (conservation and promotion of Nation, Duty, and the Divine). There are six ideological foundations of HSSF, including environmental preservation, instilling patriotism and human values, and fostering women's honor. The daily schedule of events during the fair, which include cultural programs, prayers, and presentations focused on these core values. The fair aims to showcase the service work of Hindu spiritual and social organizations and encourage public participation.

The Green Communities Foundation participated in the Hindu Spiritual & Service Foundation Fair held in Mumbai from January 9th-12th, 2025. This event provided an invaluable platform to raise awareness about sustainable waste management practices and showcase GCF's initiatives in both urban and rural Maharashtra.

GCF's exhibit highlighted the importance of effective waste management in daily life through visual displays and interactive demonstrations. Projects from across Maharashtra were featured, illustrating the diverse approaches and solutions tailored to different community needs.

Home Composting Initiative:

A key feature of the GCF exhibit was a demonstration of efficient home composting techniques. This initiative aimed to empower individuals to manage organic waste at the source, even in limited spaces. Visitors were enthusiastic to learn practical tips and gain confidence in their ability to compost effectively.

Community Engagement and Impact:

The GCF team actively engaged with visitors, answering questions and addressing concerns about waste management. These interactions provided valuable insights into public perceptions and attitudes towards waste issues.
