On the 14th & 15th Jan 2017 there was a medical camp in Andheri to promote health and well being. In addition to personal health, the organizers thought of covering the environmental health aspect as well. They not just wanted their camp to be a green event but also wanted to promote community level waste management, including the concept of segregation at source.
The volunteers of Green Societies were there to explain to the visitors the core concepts and also enlist them for a
subsequent follow-up to introduce waste management at their societies.
Over 25 active residents showed interest to start segregation in their societies. Setting an example themselves, the organizers ensured that there was very little plastic waste at the event and all the plastic that was used was recycled.
Are you having any such event where you would like Green Societies to educate residents about waste management? Contact us and we will be happy to be there.
